5 Things First-Time Riders Should Know About Flat-Rate Car Service
How flat-rate car service works, what's included, and how far ahead to book — a quick primer for first-time riders in Las Vegas.
If you've only ever hailed an app-based ride, a flat-rate chauffeured car service works a little differently. Here's what to know before your first booking in Las Vegas.
1. Your rate is set before you ride
A flat rate is quoted at booking based on your pickup point, drop-off point, and vehicle tier. That number doesn't change for traffic, weather, or time of day — unlike on-demand apps, which can apply surge pricing during high-demand windows. See the full rate card for current published rates.
2. Book ahead when you can
24 to 72 hours ahead is ideal for guaranteed availability, especially around holidays and major local events. Same-day bookings are accepted when a chauffeur is available, but early booking gives dispatch more room to plan around flight delays and event traffic.
3. Flight tracking is included on airport pickups
Your chauffeur is dispatched based on your flight's actual landing time, not the scheduled one. International arrivals include 60 minutes of complimentary wait after customs, so a delayed bag claim won't leave you searching for a ride.
4. Meet-and-greet is part of the service
Look for curbside pickup with a name sign, or request a chauffeur staged inside baggage claim for international arrivals. Luggage assistance and bottled water are included on every trip.
5. The right vehicle depends on your group
Solo travelers and pairs typically book the Executive Sedan. Groups of up to six with luggage move up to the Executive SUV, and larger groups — wedding parties, sports teams, corporate offsites — take the 12-passenger Sprinter Van. See the full fleet lineup for capacity and bag counts.
A few Las Vegas specifics
Know your terminal. Harry Reid International Airport has two terminals that have separate baggage-claim and curbside pickup areas. Terminal 1 serves Southwest, American, Delta and Allegiant; Terminal 3 serves United, Frontier, Alaska, JetBlue, Hawaiian and all international carriers. Put your airline and flight number on the booking so the chauffeur goes to the right door.
Plan around the calendar. Big conventions such as CES in January and SEMA in November, and the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, change traffic across the Strip for days. During race week, Las Vegas Blvd, Sands Ave and Koval Ln close to through traffic, and transfers are rerouted around the closures.
Hourly is for more than one stop. If the car should wait while you have dinner, see a show or attend meetings, book by the hour. Hourly service has a 3-hour minimum, and the clock includes the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel and standard wait time.
Cancelling is simple. Cancellations made 2+ hours before pickup are free.
